Obituary of Eleanor Rose Kannert

Eleanor Rose Kannert March 29, 1916-November 10, 2012 96 years old of Endicott, New York and formerly of Monticello, New York Eleanor Rose Kannert, a former retail sales manager and a long time resident of Sullivan County, died on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at her home in Endicott, New York. She was 96. The daughter of the late Jacob Brower and Ruth E. Gold Brower, Eleanor was born on March 29, 1916 in Farmingdale, New York. Eleanor was an active member of the Senior Citizens of Monticello and the Temple Sholom Synagogue in Monticello, and will be remembered as a deeply faithful woman, who was extremely helpful to others, and had a devout love of shopping. She is survived by her husband, Albert Kannert, at home; her two sons, Richard Malowitz (Harriet), of Endicott, NY, and Gregory Mallow (Susan), of West Islip, NY; her stepchildren, Lloyd Kannert (Maureen), of Brentwood, NY, and Elise Kanert, of Kings Park, NY; her five grandchildren, Heather (David) Pender, of Endicott, NY, Henry Malowitz, of Endicott, NY, Rose Ariola, of Coram, NY, and Joseph Ariola, of Coram, NY, Robert Kannert, of Brentwood, NY; and her 8 great-grandchildren, Giovanna, Rachel, Brittany, Robert, Kera, Nickolas, Angela, and Michael, all of Florida. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by, first husband, Henry Malowitz, her daughter, Phyllis J. Ariola, her brothers Bertram Brower, Sidney Brower, and Norman Brower, and her sister-in-law, Goldie Brower. Funeral services for Eleanor will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 10:00am, at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701. Memorial Contributions may be made in her name to the Temple Sholom Synagogue of Monticello. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home of Monticello.
