Obituary of Iris Herrmann
Mrs. Iris Herrmann, a longtime resident of Rock Hill and Monticello, NY passed away on Thursday May 12, 2016 at Achieve Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Liberty. She was 77.
The daughter of the late Louis and Jean Smith Silverstein, Iris was born on August 22, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY.
Iris is remembered as working in her community as both a receptionist for Dr. Abraham Garfinkel in Monticello as well as a caregiver at Becky Whipple’s Daycare in Monticello.
A family statement reads “Family and friends were always very important to Mom. Her home was always filled with both.”
Survivors include her daughter Hope Mikaelian and her husband Kevin of Rock Hill NY, Son Alan and his wife Terry of Staten Island NY, close family friend Thomas Devlin of Hurleyville NY, grandsons Matthew Mikaelian, Joshua Herrmann, and Eric Herrmann, granddaughter Robyn Herrmann as well as her great-grandson Austin.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert Herrmann in 1979.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday May 15, 2016 at 11:00AM at the Beth David Cemetery, 300 Elmont Road, Elmont, NY with Rabbi Endre Stamler officiating.
