Stanley Charles Rosenstock, long-time resident of Ellenville, New York died peacefully at his home in Boca Raton, Florida on Friday, October 4, 2013. He was 90 years old.
Stanley was born on June 23, 1923 to Anna and Louis Rosenstock. He graduated from Ellenville Central School in 1941 and attended Western Maryland College. He left to join the United States Army where he achieved the rank of second lieutenant. After his discharge from the army, he started a long, illustrious career as vice president of General Sportwear Company, Incorporated which manufactured children’s sportswear and became an international company.
During his lifetime, he served as vice president and president of Congregation Ezrath Israel. He was also instrumental in the fundraising for the building of the new synagogue. He also served as a member of the Republican Senatorial inner circle and served as a delegate at the Republican National Presidential Conventions.
Stanley is survived by Phyllis, his wife of 64 years; five children: Michael(Lisa)of Leonia, NJ, Carl(Nancy) of Ellenville, NY, Richard of Boca Raton, FL, Jane Siegel(Dr.Sandy) of Baltimore, MD, Alice Rosenblatt(David) of Wellington, FL. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren Meredith and David Chasin, Margo Siegel, Debra Rosenstock, Jennifer Rosenstock and Cory Goldman, Natalie Rosenstock, Samantha Rosenstock, Elyse Rosenstock, Andrew Rosenblatt and Jonathan Rosenblatt. He is also survived by his sisters Marilyn Rieger, Rhoda Weiss and brothers Herbert and Nelson Rosenstock. He is predeceased by his brother Jerome Rosenstock.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 6th at 11:00 am at Congregation Ezrath Israel, Rabbi Eisner Square, Ellenville, NY. Burial will be in Ezrath Israel Cemetery, Route 209, Wawarsing, NY.
