Dear Marlene,
Your dad was a lovely man. I remember him as always laughing and telling jokes.
I have clear memories of how vital and alive he was. He was truly someone who you would always remember.
I'm writing this and thinking how similar your dad was to mine.
My dad is gone two years now… and I think of him everyday.
My heart goes out to you and Nate, and the whole family.
Please send my love to your mother.
Love,
Harriet

Dear Sylvia, Marlene and Judy, Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of Your dear husband and father, Dave. What a mensch! In the 59 years that I had the privilege of knowing Dave, there wasn't a time that he was not regaling me and my family with jokes, anecdotes and history about Mountaindale. I'm so glad that I was able to speak with him and Sylvia about a month ago. He was a legend in our 'shtetl' aka Mountaindale. He now belongs to the ages. It is likely that we won't see a man of his calibre again! May warm and nurturing mories help sustain you now and always. Love, Richard

Growing up in Woodridge, Rashkin's was the place to not only get your basic drug store products but share a great fountain soda and meal with fellow Woodridge folks. I was fortunate enough to have worked in Rashkin's Pharmacy as a teenager getting to know Dave and Sylvia. Dave was a kind boss and gentle man. Dave always welcomed me to explore his precious TOMSCO Falls and was so proud of the property! I felt like family. Memories of Dave will be alive in many Woodridge folks!
