My parents (Jake and Sylvia) and I were next door neighbors of the Kaplans for years. The picture above captures how I remember her. Nice person, part of the history of Monticello.

Anne, in her role as Trustee and Mayor of the Village of Monticello represented all of the people of the Village and set policies that exist today. She was a friend of the people and her day to day activities as the voice of Broadway while running Kaplan's restaurant made Monticello a strong tourist Village. She continues to be missed and I can say that she was a hard act to follow when I became Mayor. And a special thanks to the Whiteheads for their superior care.

I remember Anne and the restaurant and Ina. I did her hair a couple of times, when I worked at Murrita,s near Jamesway.
My parents knew her well. After my father passed and my mother and aunt ran card games out of their apt. She would be there.
Very nice and sweet lady. She and my mother would sometimes share food tips.
May you have peace

My sincere condolences to the Kaplan family on the passing of their dear Anne. I remember her well whenever my family went into the restaurant. She always made us feel so welcome. It really made an impression on us. May her soul rest in peace. May warm and nurturing memories help sustain you now and always.

Dear Susan, Anaya and your entire family,
I extend my deepest condolence over the passing of Anne. She was a wonderful person and friend. Anne graciously took my mother Eva “under her wing” during a particularly difficult time in her life. For that I am eternally grateful and will remember her gesture of friendship, kindness, compassion and loyalty forever.
