I visited September 2017 with my husband. I'm so glad he finally got to see some of the most important people in my life. I can honestly say that Mrs. Beck is part of who I am today. I even have a beautiful camera!

My thoughts and prayers are with the Beck Family....what an amazing woman...as the principal of EHS for 2 years she was the most dedicated teacher,friend and volunteer, Her camera at her side for every event at the schools... I remember we had a few students that didn't have prom dresses for the senior prom....the next day I had 4 dress's in my office...Joan Beck was amazing...I wish I could of been there this week to pay my respects...she is what education is all about..loving,caring,and giving....there aren't to many Joan Becks in this world...but Ellenville was lucky to have had here...will miss you and love you but you will never be forgotten..peace...

I've know Mrs. Beck my whole life and I adopted her as my grandma for the last 18 years, she was one of the best ladies you could've ever met and she would always put a smile on your face, she believed in me more then I believed in myself and I will cherish her for that. I was so sorry to hear the news about Joan. She was a wonderful person (as we all know) and I send my deepest condolences to her family. Although I moved away from Ellenville many yiears ago (and was a teacher, counselor and college administrator) I will never forget Joan's enthusiasm and genuine concern for others. She was a special person throughout her life and Ellenville was better because of her efforts.
