Mrs. Windt was a family friend and my 6th grade teacher. My mother always held Marion in the highest regard, and my father used to say that her late husband, Irwin, was the salt of the earth. One teaching technique I remember was to not finish her sentences, so that the class would fill in the blank and finish them for her. Still remember that to this day, and I am 59!
She had a heart of gold and paid for one of my friends bar mitzvah when his family could not afford it.
I have wonderful memories of 6th grade, including a field trip to New York City to tour the UN, The Museum of Natural History, and the Empire State Building. A glorious day for an 11 year old kid from Liberty!!
In her later years, I remember how active she was in retirement, instrumental in an abundance of community improvement. Feisty and small (but powerful), she was a force of nature. The world is less than it was, now that she has passed. Rest in peace, Mrs. Windt. I think I can safely speak for your students in saying that you made quite an impression on us all.

To the family of Marion Pollack Windt:
We want to express our condolences to your family of your dear loved one. After reading the obituary it’s evident that she was a special person that will be missed dearly. Since many are faced with the unbearable pain such a loss brings, you may wonder “How long will these feelings last? Will I ever be happy again? How can I find relief? The Bible answers these questions for us. God promises that there will be a time when he will swallow up death forever at Isaiah 25:8. If you would like to learn more about this promise please visit the website JW.org and there you will see the article Awake No. 3 “Help for those who Grieve”.

My cousin Marion was like the energizer bunny. She was warm and wonderful. The hotel was called Pollack’s Hotel . I spent many summers there.
She will be sadly missed. I was able to visit her several times lately. I am grateful for that.

It was with a saddened heart to hear of Mrs. Windt's passing.I am just another one of her grown up pupils, who was in awe of her personality and keen wit. After the "black and white" of Catholic school, Marion was alive with color, good humor and interesting topics. My heartfelt condolences and prayers to Eileen - your facebook notice was appreciated- and all of her many family and friends. Her work is done..for the moment ---- Rest in eternal peace, dear lady

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Windt's passing. I have only the fondest memories of her as my 6th-grade reading teacher. She encouraged my love of reading and brought such excitement and expectations to the classroom. I often think of her as I am teaching my own classes.
