Debbie and I were friends for 19 years. She was kind, compassionate and loyal. Her sense of humor and lovely smile remained even in the most difficult of times. What more could you ask for in a friend.l? She will be forever close to my heart. I’ll miss you my friend.

I knew Debbie from the NYC Department of Health. We bonded over beading and realized we had other mutual interests. I have fond memories of "playing" with Debbie when I came up for summer weekends. She was tremendous fun and a caring friend. After her first neck surgery at Columbia the nurses were astounded by her positive attitude. She was a real fighter. I miss her.

Debbie and I were friends since our teenage years. In the 53 years of friendship we protested nuclear arms, traveled to Central Park to meet rock stars, double dated, and explored life. Debbie attended all family functions and holidays including our grand daughters’s bat mitzvah.
She was a large presence in a small package. She was bright and caring...never forgetting a birthday or holiday. Her greatest accomplishment in addition to a successful career as an assistant to Mayor Koch in NYC was marrying Bernie.
Love Always, dear friend,
Linda Barash
