ZACHARY IRVING MALEK
MONTICELLO, NY
Irving Malek, longtime resident of Monticello and a retired owner and operator of several Deliss including one across from Yankee Stadium in New York, died on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at Catskill Regional Medical Center Harris. He was 88.
Irving was a World War II Army Veteran serving with a heavy construction battalion in the Pacific Theater. He was a graduate of Yeshiva University in New York.
He was born on February 12, 1917 in Czechoslovakia the son of Rabbi Joseph & Sadie Skolnik Malek. He was a member of the Monticello Senior Citizens Club.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Spring Malek at home in Monticello, and his five sons; Michael Malek of Tennessee, David and Glenn Malek of Monticello, Stephen Malek of Long Island and Jerry Malek and his wife Carol of Smallwood, and his four grandchildren; Zachary, Mark, Andrew and Adam, and many nieces & nephews.
Irving was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
Graveside funeral services with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2005 at 11am in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Rd. Liberty, NY. Cantor Michael Sturm will officiate.
