I had the good fortune to have Mr. Crystal as my 6th grade teacher in Liberty some 55 years ago. He was a tremendous teacher who exposed us to opera - Aida and Carmen - and also allowed me to write a play which we performed as a class. It was a Beatnik version of Sleeping Beauty. I went on to a lifetime of writing, and have authored 26 books, and pushing my creativity back then certainly helped me. He was one of a kind.
