Obituary of Saba Wainapel

ELLENVILLE, NY
Saba Wainapel, a retired nurse who worked in Ellenville with her husband Dr. David Wainapel who died 1988, and longtime resident of Ellenville, died on Monday, June 13, 2005 in Kingston Hospital. He was 87.
Saba was born in Poland on March 9, 1918 the daughter of Shimon Zvi & Rafka Wulkan. She was a member of Ezrath Israel Synagogue in Ellenville, and founded and funded a special award in Ellenville High School for Holocaust studies.
She is survived by her two sons: Dr. Stanley Wainapel and his wife Wendy Feldman of New York, NY and Harvey Wainapel of San Francisco, Calf, her sister; Esther Herschkopf of Far Rockaway, NY and her granddaughter, Samantha Ji Ping Wainapel, and her niece, nephew and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at 11am, in Ezrath Israel Synagogue Rabbi Eisner Square Ellenville, NY. Rabbi Moshe Frank will officiate. Burial will be in Ezrath Israel Cemetery Route 209 Wawarsing, NY.
The family will be sitting Shiva at the family home in Ellenville on Wednesday and Thursday.
