Obituary of Ian Glen Cooperstein
Liberty, NY
Mr. Ian Cooperstein of Liberty, NY passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. He was 39. The son of Julie Koppel Cooperstein and the late Barry Ray Cooperstein, Ian was born on January 9, 1982 in Nyack, NY.
Ian was a well-known and respected Emergency Medical Technician in Sullivan County. He first served with the Town of Liberty Volunteer Ambulance Corps as a junior member, held many line officer positions, and later served as the EMS Administrator. He was currently employed as the Deputy Director of Operations for Mobilemedic EMS. Ian also was the owner/operator of Aden Valley Landscaping in Liberty, NY.
Survivors include his mother; Julie Cooperstein, sister; Lisa Cooperstein (Daniel Naughton III), nieces; Olivia and Charlotte Naughton, aunt; Susan Cooperstein, uncle; Jonathan Koppel (Lela Katzman), aunts; Elinore Kaye and Pearl Zaffrin, as well as many loving cousins and very dear friends.
A graveside funeral service will take place on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Congregation Ahavath Israel Synagogue Cemetery, Hysana Road in Liberty, NY. Masks must be worn regardless of vaccination status.
