MIMI RIEGER
Ellenville, N.Y.
Mimi Rieger, a longtime resident of Ellenville, N.Y., died peacefully at home on Friday, September 2, 2005 on her 92nd birthday.
One of five daughters of Charles and Selene Weinstein, she was born on September 2, 1913 in Boro Park, Brooklyn, NY and was raised in Mount Vernon.
Mimi is survived by her daughter, Shelley Rabkin and her husband Martin, now residents of Ellenville; a grandson, David Pressel and his wife Dina of Hoboken, NJ; a granddaughter, Lesley Kanef and her husband Dr. Matthew Kanef of Lexington, MA; three great grandsons, Jordan Stanley Pressel, Jake Harrison Kanef and Ethan Scott Kanef; her sister, Vivien Michelson of Beverly Hills, CA; her brother-in-law, Elliot Rieger and his wife Marilyn of Pinehurst, NC; nephews Joel Halpern, Steven Halpern, Bob Michelson, Steven Michelson and David Youngs; and a niece Margot Youngs.
She was predeceased by Harry, her beloved husband of 60 years and a lifelong area resident who passed away at 89 in 1998 after a brief illness. Together, they enjoyed family, friends, conversation, entertaining, an active social life and golf.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Monday, September 5 at Congregation Ezrath Israel, Rabbi Eisner Square Ellenville. Rabbi Moshe Frank will officiate.
Burial will be in Ezrath Israel Cemetery Route 209 Wawarsing, N.Y.
