Obituary of J. Burton “Yosef Ber Ben Auraham

J. BURTON SIMS MONTICELLO, NY Burt Sims, a longtime resident of the area and owner and operator of Sims Resort Colony in Monticello, died on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Catskill Regional Medical Center Harris, NY. He was 68. J. Burton Sims, was the son of the late Abraham and Clara Arber Sims, the founders of Sims Resort Colony in Monticello, he was born on April 6, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY. He attended NYU School of Commerce and NYU School of Law; he was honorably discharged from the US Army Corps of Engineers at the rank of Spec 5th class. Burt was formerly of on the UJA Young Leadership Executive Board, a former Board member of the Hebrew Day School of Sullivan County, a Past President of Monticello Bungalow Association, a life member of ZOA and associate life member of Hadassah. He is survived by his wife Shirley at home, his two sons; Hillel and his wife Claudia of Ct and Gideon Sims of NYC and his daughter, Miriam and her husband Robert of Georgia and his granddaughter Liora. Graveside funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, January 11 at 1pm in the New Montefiore Cemetery Pinelawn, NY. Shiva will be observed at the family home in Monticello.
