Obituary of Helene Abby Lindenauer

Apex, NC - Formerly of Ellenville, NY

Mrs. Helene ("Billie") Lindenauer, a resident of Apex, NC, formerly of Ellenville passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was 89. The daughter of the late Max Pollack and Gertrude Bubis Pollack, Helene was born on April 2, 1932, in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in New Haven, CT.

Billie worked as a bookkeeper, office manager, and credit manager throughout her career until she retired from Besicorp Development of Kingston in 1997.   After Billie got married, she moved to Ellenville with her husband to raise their family.  She was part of a tight knit Jewish community who remained friends throughout their entire lives.  After retirement, Billie moved to North Carolina to be close to her family.  In North Carolina she was extremely active in the senior community walking, line dancing, social events, traveling, regular volunteering, and more. She lived independently to the very end.

Billie is survived by her two children Beth Tilton of Cary, NC and Jay Lindenauer (Daisy) of Seattle, WA.  She has 6 grandchildren David Tilton (Ashley), Ryan Tilton (Lauren), Jonathan Lindenauer (Sarah Harder), Cory Tilton (Kaitlin), Kyle Lindenauer (Lena), and Chloe and 6 great grandchildren with one more due in April.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Herbert Lindenauer.

A graveside funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at 1:00pm at the Congregation Ezrath Israel Synagogue Cemetery, Route 209 in Wawarsing.
