What wonderful MSN and Physician. He was my Moms Doctor for many years until we moved to FL. I always remember Jim smiling and his kindness.

Dr. Lauterstein was an exemplar of quality patient care and advocacy. It was his wisdom and expertise that saved my life in 1995. At my appointments he would remind me that a miracle saved my life. My last appointment prior to his retirement I reminded him he was my miracle. Sad that he is gone, but forever grateful I was his patient.
My sincere condolences to the family and of friends Dr. Lauterstein.
Eternally,
TRH

It was a true honor to work with Dr. Lauterstein as a Social Worker at the hospital. I will always have a picture in my mind of him walking through the halls carrying his medical bag. You have my deepest condolences and Joe will always have my deepest respect. Eileen Trickey

My sincere condolences to Brenda, Deb & Liz and family on a loss of “Doctor Joe”. He touched our families hearts in so many ways as he cared for my parents (esp. my Dad who he transferred to St. Vincent for heart issues), my husband and myself. But my fondest memories are the cardiac teaching days at the Concord hotel and working with him as an RN. It brought a smile to my face when I saw you mentioned the time when he did that first pacemaker in Sullivan County as I was his nursing assistant along with the X-ray technician. After that successful pacemaker, we did multiple insertions after that. He loved teaching and he loved his patients. Most of all, he was proud of his daughters, family and life. Joe, May you Rest In Peace. Love to all, Linda Guenther Anderson, RN
