Obituary of Sylvia Reynolds

Monticello, NY

Sylvia Reynolds, 85, of Monticello, NY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.  The daughter of Solomon and Ruth Klein Goldman, Sylvia was born on July 16, 1937, in Monticello, NY.

Sylvia was a graduate of Monticello High School and a life-long resident of Sullivan County, NY.  With her husband Ellery Reynolds (predeceased), Sylvia owned and operated Ellery’s Dry Cleaners in Monticello for nearly 40 years.  In her retirement, Sylvia enjoyed spending time with her friends and family as much as possible.  She was always up for a road trip to anywhere, and loved a good game of Mahjongg.  Her loyalty, generous heart, and devotion to family will be greatly missed.    

Sylvia is survived by her son Randall (Catherine) Reynolds, her daughter Tamera (Milo) Reynolds Zwerling, four grandchildren: Sarah Tuel, Alexander Reynolds, Hannah Reynolds, and Sierra Zwerling, and 7 great-grandchildren. 

A funeral service will take place on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at 10:00am at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701. Burial will immediately follow at the Cold Spring Road Cemetery, Old Thompson Road, Monticello, NY. 

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Congregation Agudas Achim in Livingston Manor, NY in Sylvia’s Hebrew name "Sura."
