Obituary of Jeanne Greenberg

JEANNE GREENBERG MONTICELLO, NY Jeanne Greenberg, a longtime resident of Monticello, passed away peacefully in Great Neck, New York, on June 4, 2005, after a long illness. She was 84. Born Jeanne Sally Shapiro, in Brooklyn, New York, she was married to the late Dr. Isidore S. Greenberg, who was practicing physician in Monticello for over 30 years, and where she lived for 40 years. Jeanne graduated from Pratt Institute in 1940, as a dietitian, and worked in the health field until her marriage to then Navy Officer Isidore Greenberg in 1945. She worked alongside her husband in his medical practice until his death, in 1983. She is survived by her three children, Dr. Ellen Greenberg of Sofia. Bulgaria, Stephen Greenberg of San Antonio, Texas, and David Greenberg of New York City. Jean was predeceased by two sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 6, 2005 at 2pm in the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc. 388 Broadway in Monticello. Rabbi Irving Goodman will officiate. Burial will be in the Mountaindale Synagogue Cemetery Marsh Rd. Glen Wild, NY. The family respectively requests that donations in her name may be made to the American Heart Association.
