Dr. Abraham J. Pollack a retired dentist and longtime resident of Liberty died on Monday, March 13, 2006 at home in Boca Raton, Fl. He was 87.
Dr. Pollack was born in the Bronx on September 3, 1918, the son of Elias and Anna Sklar Pollack. He served in the African-Asian theater during World War II in the dental corp. of the Army. Dr. Pollack opened his dental practice in Liberty in 1946 and retired in 1985. He was a former member of the Liberty Rotary Club.
He is survived by his wife Wilma Davidson Pollack at home, his son; Sheldon Pollack and his wife Dr. Patti Werther of Merion, Pa, his two daughters; Joan Pollack Warren of Bryn Mawr, Pa and Eileen Pollack of Ann Arbor, Mich and his five grandchildren; Andrew, Hillary, Noah, Alyssa and Seth, and his sister Marion Windt of Liberty, NY.
He was predeceased by his son in law Robert G. Warren and brother in law Irwin Windt.
Funeral services will be on Friday, March 17, 2006 at 11am in Cong. Ahavath Israel Synagogue Chest Nut Street Liberty, NY. Rabbi Marvin Goldman will officiate. Burial will be in Ahavath Israel Cemetery Hy-San-Na Road Liberty.
