Weston, Florida formerly of Liberty, NY
Helen Sabloff of Weston, Florida, a 19-year resident of Weston, Florida, and formerly a 45-year resident of Liberty, NY, died Friday, March 17, 2006, after a very brief illness. She was 87. .
Mrs. Sabloff was active in many civic and community organizations during her years in Liberty, including President of Sisterhood of Congregation Ahavath Israel and President of the local chapter of Hadassah. She was also active in the Boy Scouts of America and fundraising efforts for Community General Hospital, Maimonides Hospital and the State of Israel. While in Florida she worked at Baers Furniture until she was 82.
Survivors include her two sons, Fredric of Plantation Fla. and Warren and his wife Ellen of Great Neck, NY; one daughter, Stephanie, and her husband Steven Wasser of Wellesley, MA, one sister, Roz Lazar of Boca Raton, Fla; seven grandchildren, Jason, Benjamin, Susan, Adam, Josh, Jacqueline and Merrill, and two great-grandchildren, Abby and Livie. She is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Philip Sabloff, in 1999.
Funeral services will be held today Monday, March 20, 2006 at 1pm in Cong. Ahavath Israel Synagogue, Chestnut Street Liberty. Rabbi Marvin Goldman will officiate. Burial will be in Ahavath Israel Cemetery Hy-San-Na Road, Liberty.
