Obituary of Herman Weiss

HERMAN HY WEISS DELRAY BEACH, FL FORMERLY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, NY It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Herman "Hy" Weiss of Delray Beach, FL, formerly of Jeffersonville, NY & Brooklyn, NY. He remained healthy & active, living in his own home until his death. He was 97 years oldon May 22,2007 and died peacefully at home on Saturday, August 4, 2007. Hy was retired from the United States Postal Service and in his retirement yearscontinued to work as a Para- Mutual clerk at theMonticello Raceway and several racetracks in Florida until he was 75 years old. . Hy was the widow of the late Hilda Taberoff of Jeffersonville. They were married for 62 years. Hy was the beloved father of Gerald Weiss of Boynton Beach, FL & Diane Rathner of Gansevoort, NY,and their respective spouses Anita Weiss & Philip Rathner. He was the belovedGrandfather of five, Andrew Weiss,Scott Weiss, Leslie Stempel, Todd Rathner & Leigh Rathner. Hy was fortunate to have eleven Great Grandchildren, Allison Weiss, Joshua Weiss, Jacob Weiss, Eden Weiss, Benjamin Weiss, Joshua Stempel, Lea Stempel, Sydney Rathner, Henry Rathner, Isaac Rathner & 6 mo. old Aaron Rathner. Graveside funeral services will held today, Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 3pm in the Jeffersonville Jewish Cemetery Route 52 between Jeffersonville and Youngsville. Rabbi Marvin Goldman will officiate.
