Obituary of Sylvia Barr

Sylvia Barr Kauneonga Lake, NY Sylvia Barr, a former clerk for the Kauneonga Lake Post Office, died Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at her home in Kauneonga Lake. She was 98. The daughter of the late Herman Kosser & Sarah Friedfeld Kosser, she was born February 11, 1909 in Poland. She was the widow of Max Barr who predeceased her in 1995. She is survived by two sons: Louis Barr of Auke Bay, Alaska and Irwin Barr of New York City; a sister: Shirley Goldstein of Fountain Hills, Arizona; two grandchildren: Valerie Vitale & Heather Barr; a great granddaughter: Emma; and several nieces & nephews. She also leaves behind her special friends: Jenese Grant & daughter Rose Bowen, and Millie Wlodorski. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother: Mack Kosser; and a sister: Tillie Schuster. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 20 at 9:30am at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway in Monticello. Burial will follow in the New Montefiore Cemetery in Pinelawn, Long Island. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of ones choice.
