Obituary of Barbara Mae Strasser

Atlanta, GA formerly of Las Vegas, NV, and Spring Valley, NY 

Barbara Strasser, of Atlanta, Georgia, and formally of Las Vegas, NV, and Spring Valley, NY,  passed away peacefully on April 30, 2023, at her home.  She was 88 years old.  Barbara was the daughter of Morris and Edna Braunstein, and the Mother of Eric, David, Andrew, and Susan Strasser (Michniewicz).  She was born on December 28, 1934.

Barbara lived a long and happy life, as a caring mother of 4 children, and 6 grandchildren.   Her devoted years as a teacher at the New York School for the Deaf, helped hundreds of kids live more effectively in the world. 

Her son David remembers her most for her true devotion to her children..“She never missed a game or event, for any of her children, when we were growing up.  No Friday night went by, without her being at my basketball games throughout my whole life.  As a father, I see the joy she experienced in coming to all these events and knew how happy she was when I told her about theater or sports her grandkids were involved with every day.  

Barbara is survived by her Children David Strasser (Amira) and Susan Michniewicz  (Brian), and grandchildren, Jessica, Maria, and Noah Strasser, and Tyler and Alyssa Michniewicz.  

Barbara was predeceased by her husband Milton, sons Eric and Andrew Strasser, and grandson Matthew Michniewicz.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 2:00pm at the Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ.
