Obituary of Carole Baken
Delray Beach, FL
Carole Baken, a resident of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully from acute myeloid leukemia at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, New York on July 4, 2023. She was 86 years old; the daughter of Irwin and Teddy Malden. She was born on January 29, 1937, in the Bronx at Royal Hospital. She married the love of her life, Bruce, on January 18, 1958.
Carole attended City College of New York, earning her bachelor’s degree in Education. She and her family lived in Baldwin, New York for 35 years where she served nine years on the Board of Education in the school district in which her children attended, three of those years serving as the School Board President. Carole was the consummate homemaker, devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dear friend to many. She was a blessing who will be sorely missed.
Carole was the matriarch of a large and loving family. She is survived by her husband Bruce Baken; her children Scott Baken (w. Ellen Baken), Barbra Adler (h. Alan Adler), Glenn Baken (w. Dinah Baken), Bonnie Haman (h. Rich Haman) and Evan Baken (w. Katherine Baken); grandchildren – Larissa Seeberger (h. Sean Seeberger), Alessandra Viall, Jonathan Baken, Chelsea Baken, Thomas Baken, Kayla Baken, Benjamin Baken, Sasha Baken (f. Roie Rennert), Gabrielle Baken, Madison Baken, Brandon Robertson, Todd Robertson (w. Morgan Robertson), Eric Haman, and Zoren Haman; great grandchildren – Joan Seeberger, Alexis Robertson, Ayden Robertson, and Greyson Robertson; her brother Alan Malden (w. Cathy Malden), and her nieces and nephews – Michael Malden (w. Samantha Malden), Scott Malden, Mathew Malden, Garrett Baken (w. Olga Baken), and Stacey Baken.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 11:00am at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701. Interment will immediately follow at the Workman Circle # 281 Cemetery located in her beloved Catskill Mountains, where she spent her summers for the past 57 years.
