Obituary of Phyllis Hoffman

Monticello, NY

Phyllis Hoffman, 90, of Monticello, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at The Care Center at Sunset Lake. The daughter of Max and Gertrude Rosen, Phyllis was born on June 29, 1933, in Brooklyn, NY.

In 1952, Phyllis met Marty in Brooklyn. Phyllis and Marty had two children, Jacqueline, and Alan. 

Phyllis started her career as a reservation manager at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan, NY. In 1975, the family relocated to Monticello, NY. Phyllis continued her career as a reservation manager at the Raleigh Hotel, Concord Hotel, and The Homowack. 

Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, Max and Gertrude Rosen; sister Elenor Rosen; husband, Martin Hoffman. Phyllis is survived by her children Jacqueline and Alan Hoffman; grandchildren, Jordan Hoffman, Maxine Hoffman Fodor and husband Stefan; and great-grandchildren Marley and Riley. 

A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 11:00am at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, 171-181 Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY.

The family will sit Shiva following the funeral and the following two days. Visitors are welcome to join from 1pm to 7pm.
