Obituary of Linda Dahn
Middletown, NY
Linda Ellen Krieger Dahn entered this world on August 10, 1946, to Morris and Irma Krieger with her twin sister Janet Krieger Smalls. Linda passed away on October 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Linda was predeceased by her loving parents Morris and Irma, and her brother-in-law Richard Smalls. She will forever be remembered with endless love by those she has left behind, including her partner and husband for the past 27 years, David and his son Brian. She leaves behind her daughter Rebecca and her son-in-law James. Former husband and friend, Stewart Dahn. Neice Margo Smalls and nephew Daniel Smalls. Daughters-in-law Susan Kelly and Rosaria Vento. Grandchildren Grace Ellen Soto, Maxstan and Makena Cleveland and many more extended family and dear friends.
Linda was born in Brooklyn, NY, then her family moved to Middletown NY, to the home she continued to live in and love until the day she passed. She graduated college from SUNY Albany with degrees in social work and Spanish, which she proudly used throughout her 30 years working at Orange County Social Services. During her career, Linda was respected by all and believed in showing respect and compassion to everyone she encountered.
Linda was blessed with the most loving compassionate and generous spirit that was extended to not only her family and friends but TRULY ALL with whom she interacted with. She would GIVE first, before she would RECEIVE, never expecting anything in return. She found pleasure in generosity when meeting the overall needs that someone had. This quality was so profound in her that she often brought gifts to her family on her own birthday, “Just like a Hobbit!”, as Linda would say.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 12:00pm at the Temple Sholom Cemetery, Southwoods Road, Monticello, NY.
Arrangements are honorably entrusted to the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home - 845-794-7474 or www.josephngarlickfuneralhome.com.
