Obituary of Sylvia Cohan Herman

Goshen, NY

Sylvia Cohan Herman, a resident of Orange County, NY passed away on the evening of Friday, July 12, 2024 at Glen Arden. She was 91.

Born on October 23, 1932 in Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky, Sylvia was married to her beloved Irvin Milner Herman for 69 years.  Irvin pre-deceased her on July 30, 2023  at Glen Arden in Goshen, NY.
They spent an amazing life together traveling the world and exploring new and exciting places.  One of their favorite and most exciting trips was an African safari!

Upon retiring from Union Carbide, Irvin and Sylvia moved to Rock Hill, NY to be with their grandchildren Robbie, Katie and Danny Green.  Their lives revolved around family and making special memories, like roasting hot dogs and making s'mores around the fire at the log cabin. We will all treasure the time we spent together!

Irv and Sylvia raised two daughters, Sherri Stein (Jan) in California and Gail in New York.
They were blessed with five grandchildren; Robbie, Katie (Adam) and Danny (Laura) in New York, Florida and Missouri. And Lilly and Jacob(Monique) in California. They also have 5 great grandchildren.

We would like to thank the amazing staff at Glen Arden in Goshen for their loving care of both Irvin and Sylvia. They truly treated them as they would their own family. We cannot praise their care enough! Thank you!
