Obituary of Ann Shapiro

Ann Shapiro Ellenville, NY July 18, 1920 - March 8, 2009 Ann Shapiro, formerly of Ellenville passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009 in Boynton Beach, Florida. The daughter of the late Abraham Lewis and Jennie Kramer Lewis, she was born July 18, 1920 in Brooklyn. She was the widow of Sidney "Chick" Shapiro. Ann was an active member of the Congregation Ezrath Israel, Woman of the Year and ran the rummage for the synagogue.; and a member of Hadassah. She is survived by two sisters: Evelyn Mann and Dorothy Leibin; a son: Stewart Shapiro; a daughter: Roberta Shapiro O'Reilly; four grandchildren: Jason Putzer & his wife Jane, Jill Putzer, Shannon Shapiro and Jeffrey Shapiro; two great grandchildren: Benjamin and Allie; and many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 11 at 10:30am at the Congregation Ezrath Israel Synagogue, Center Street in Ellenville with Rabbi Moshe Frank officiating. Burial will follow at the Congregation Ezrath Israel Synagogue Cemetery in Wawarsing. The family will be sitting Shiva from Wednesday through Friday at 12 Woodland Way in Ellenville.
