David B. Jaffe, Sullivan County native and long time resident, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at his home in Liberty, NY. He was 67. The son of the late Max Jaffe and Muriel Dichter Jaffe, David was born in Liberty on March 24, 1941. He was a well known Certified Public Accountant, having practiced in the area for more than three decades. A proud veteran of the United States Army, David was an alumnus of Hofstra University, a dedicated member of Congregation Ahavath Israel, Liberty, an associate of Hadassah, and a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
The greatest joy in his life was his family, children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. David is survived by his loving wife Ellen Mandel Jaffe, at home; son, Michael Jaffe, and his wife Stephanie, of Cincinnati, OH; daughters, Elise Jaffe and her husband Daniel Sangeap, of Forest Hills, NY, and Rachel Mauceri and her husband Patrick, of Ardmore, Pa; brother, Joseph Jaffe and his wife Nancy, of Weston, CT; four grandchildren, Abraham, Kevin, Max, and Lia, and his nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, March 12, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Congregation Ahavath Israel, 39 Chestnut Street, in Liberty. Burial will follow in the Synagogue Cemetery located on Hysanah, Road in Liberty.
