Obituary of Nelson Garelick

NELSON GARELICK HURLEYVILLE, NY NOVEMBER 14, 1915-May 16, 2009 Nelson Garelick, a lifetime Hurleyville resident self employed plumber, died on Saturday, May 16, 2009 in the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 93. Nelson was born in New York City on November 14, 1915 the son of Joseph and Rosie Checkman Garelick. He was the widow of Dorothy Osdoby who died in 2004. Nelson was a World War II Army Veteran, a Longtime Member and Past President of the Hurleyville Fire Department, a Past Secretary of the Hurleyville Synagogue, and Nelson was the valedictorian of class that graduated from the Hurleyville School. Nelson is survived by his daughter: Jacqueline Herman of Chester and his sister Sylvia Berman of Fl, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held today, Monday, May 18, 2009 at 11am in the Hurleyville Synagogue Main St. Hurleyville. Rabbi Irving Goodman will officiate.
