Obituary of Anita Florence Nemerson

ANITA FLORENCE NEMERSON MONTICELLO, NY JULY 7, 1929-SEPTEMBER 18, 2009 Anita Nemerson, a retired teacher in the Monticello School District who taught in the Cooke School for almost 30 years and a longtime area resident, resident died on Friday, September 18, 2009 in the Skilled Nursing unit of Catskill Regional Medical Center Harris, NY. She was 80 years old. Anita was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 7, 1929 the daughter of Joseph and Augusta Scherr. She graduated from City College. She taught in Brooklyn for 3 years before coming to Monticello to teach and taught in the Cooke School for close to 30 years before retiring. She is survived by her husband Jack Nemerson; beloved daughter; Sharon, and her husband Tom Hemming; and dear friend Myrna Goldsmith and her family. Anita was predeceased by her son Joel Nemerson. Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 3pm in the Cold Spring Rd. Cemetery Thompson Rd. Monticello, NY. Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz will officiate.
