Alan W. Goldstein, a lifelong resident of White Sulphur Springs, Died January 28, 2010 at his home, after a long battle with colon cancer and other medical conditions. He was 51.
The son of the late Martin and Shirley Goldstein, he was born July 7, 1958 in Liberty.
Alan was a graduate of the Liberty High School and attended SUNY Binghamton and received a bachelor's degree from the Stony Brook University.
Alan loved skiing, and enjoyed traveling from coast to coast hitting the slopes of the Rockies to the trails of the beautiful mountains in New York State. He loved bicycling and had a passion for photography. He will be remembered for his outspokenness on all things political. He was a loving brother and uncle.
He is survived by his sister, Joanne Rose, and her husband, Gene, of Pine Bush; his brother, David Goldstein, and his wife Lynn, of Woodbourne; his nephews, Aaron and Justin Rose, of Pine Bush, and Samuel and Jason Goldstein, of Woodbourne; his aunt, Temi Wall, of Florida; his uncle, Bill Goldstein, of New Jersey; his aunt, Ester Effel; his loving cousins, Marsi Wall, Barbara Lobosco, and Lonny Peretz; and many devoted friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 31 at 11:00am at the Ahavath Israel Synagogue, 32 Chestnut Street, in Liberty, with Rabbi Marvin Goldman officiating. Burial will follow in the Ahavath Israel Synagogue Cemetery.
Alan's family wishes that a special thanks be extended to Doctor Robert Dinsmore for his guidance and compassion throughout Alan's illness.
