Obituary of David Gabriel Lenusky
David Gabriel Lenusky died in his sleep Monday morning November 8, 2010. He would have been 50 on November 19th.
He was born in Monticello Hospital to his parents, George Lenusky and Ruth Elaine (Lenusky) Ross, and lived his first eight years in Rock Hill.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth E. Ross; his sister, Kathy Blitz; his brother, Michael Lennox; his brother-in-law, Matthew Blitz; his nephew, Zachary Blitz and his niece, Sarah Blitz.
David worked most of his adult life in the restaurant industry, from chef at Rock Hill's legendary Dodge Inn, to running the government center food concession, to managing fast-food franchises like Burger King, Chucky Cheese, Pretzel Time and most recently, Subway in the Albany area where he lived for the last 20 years of his life.
His passions ran the gamut that life has to offer and he particularly enjoyed golfing, bowling, softball and the horses at Saratoga, especially in the company of his friends. In his quieter moments he read and collected coins.
He was a passionate and knowledgeable sports and horse racing fan and could whip up a gourmet meal for friends and/or family at a moment's notice. David was also a man who was who he was - there were no pretenses, no airs and no phoniness. He was kind, honest and loved to laugh (loudly) with a warmth that filled the room. But mostly he loved his family and his friends. It was a life sadly cut short. We will all miss him terribly.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 12, at 11 a.m. at the Brotherhood Cemetery, Monticello. Rabbi Loeb will officiate.
