Fred David Pasternack, 60, of Monticello, NY, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center. Fred was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 5, 1951. He was the son of George Pasternack and Sally Sabloff Friend.
Before moving to Monticello in 1991, Fred worked for many years on Wall Street and owned a video store in Brooklyn. Later he worked at the Concord Hotel and more recently at Kohl's Distribution Center in Wurtsboro. Fred enjoyed all sports, especially football and wrestling. He loved to cook and go to horse racing and the flea market. He loved to play poker and take trips to the casino.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Reva Miller, who he married in 1996. Also surviving are his beloved son, Joseph Pasternack of Brooklyn; his brother, Robert Pasternack of New Jersey, also his close friends, Kim and Bob, Marilyn and Oscar, Steven, and Lynn and Alan. And many more friends and relatives. He will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 15 at 3 p.m. at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway in Monticello. Burial will follow at Temple Sholom Cemetery in Monticello.
Shiva will be at the home of Reva Miller at 38 Bell Way in Monticello, starting Monday
