Obituary of Erik Rosen

Erik Matthew Rosen September 29, 1968~May 4, 2012 Rock Hill, NY & New York City, NY Erik Matthew Rosen of New York City passed away on May 4, 2012 after a long illness. Erik was born on September 29, 1968, the son of Robert M. Rosen (dec'd) and Nathana Mintz Rosen of Rock Hill, NY. Erik was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. Erik graduated from Monticello High School in 1986. He earned a B.S. from Colgate University (1990), a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law (1994), a Master's of Journalism from the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University (1994) and an MBA from the Yale School of Management (1999). Erik was the President of the Monticello High School student body, a member of Theta Chi fraternity at Colgate, and an editor of the Law Review at Syracuse Law. He was also an accomplished skier, golfer, rugby player, and runner. Erik was an entrepreneur, lawyer, artist, and writer. He was the President of Tremont Partners, a mergers and acquisitions company established in Boston, Massachusetts. Erik authored a novel, "The Nicotine Lottery," an alternate reality narrative set in his hometown of Rock Hill, NY. In recent years, Erik established cNote Art, a fine art company that brought Erik's synesthetic visions to life through prints merging music and color. Erik is survived by his mother, Nathana Mintz Rosen, brothers and sisters in-law Jeremiah and Karen Rosen and Lucas and Jennifer Rosen, uncles Ward Mintz, Floyd Lattin, William Rosen and aunt Lois Rosen. He is also survived by nieces Vivien Shoshanna Rosen and Eva Rose Rosen and cousins Matthew and Hilary Rosen. A celebration of Erik's life will be held at Bernie's Holiday Restaurant in Rock Hill on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 1pm ....
