Obituary of David Morganstein
Dave Morganstein passed away Thursday May 14, 2015 at Achieve Rehab in Liberty, NY, with kind, caring people who did all they could to make his last days as comfortable as possible, and loved him for his stories and songs.
Dave was born in the Bronx on April 26, 1933 to Ike and Martha (Feinberg) Morganstein. He just celebrated his 82nd birthday.
Dave’s Father passed when he was only 12 years old and he took on many responsibilities at a very young age. He moved to Monticello with his Mom and little brother Larry and found a home away from home at the Concord Hotel. He was a page boy, a golf caddy, a bell hop and finally a Supt. of Support Services there. He loved them and they loved him in return.
Dave graduated from Monticello High School in 1951 and went to Rider College in Trenton, NJ. He was married to Eileen (Herman) Morganstein for almost 60 years and was a dear, and devoted husband. He was a wonderful father to his daughter Marla and son Eddie. He loved sports, Las Vegas, Red Lobster, Johnny Ray and all his dear friends.
He leaves to mourn, his wife Eileen, daughter Marla, son Eddie, brother Larry, grandchildren Jessica, Amanda, D.J., Eli, Karleen and Zachary as well as his great-grandchildren, Montana, Aspen, Vera, Agatha, and Weylyn.
A funeral service will take place on Sunday May 17, 2015 at 1:00PM at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701 with Rabbi Michelle Medwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Temple Shalom Cemetery, South Woods Rd, Monticello.
