Obituary of Charlotte Schwartz

Charlotte Schwartz of Delray Beach, Fla, formerly of Sullivan County, NY passed away on Friday June 26, 2015 at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. The youngest of five sisters, Charlotte was born on October 2, 1931 in Monticello, NY to the late Jacob and Celia Meyerson. Charlotte worked as a Guidance Secretary at the Fallsburg High School for 43 years, touching the lives of innumerable students and co-workers. She was a tireless contributor who always volunteered to do whatever was necessary to assist the School Community. Charlotte was a community leader who served as PTA president, Union President, Den Mother, and role model. Charlotte’s family and extended family always came first. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter, wife and friend. Charlotte lived her life with grace, humility, caring and concern for all. Her non-judgmental and compassionate demeanor was a source of constant inspiration to her family and friends. Charlotte is survived by six children – Robert, Mona, Ellen, Michael, Arthur and Linda, their spouses – Sandy, Daniel, Scott, Carolyn and Claudia, 11 grandchildren – Justin, Jillian, Cory, Josh, Sam, Kayla, Ben, Sasha, Kaitlyn, Sam and Rebecca -- and two great grandchildren – Rylee and Jack, of whom she was incredibly proud and loved very much. Charlotte is further survived by her sister, Ruth Magid of Atlanta, Ga. Charlotte will be missed beyond measure, but she lives on in us. A funeral service will take place on Sunday June 28, 2015 at 11:00AM at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701.
