I work for JR Cigars in North Carolina. Mel was a true cigar connoisseur, a true gentleman, and just a very, very nice man. We got to chat some times and he told great stories. He just came across as a true New Yorker in a good way(LOL!) He actually invited me to visit if I was in New York.
Taught me more about cigars than you can imagine. I would look him up occasionally just to see if he had ordered as I hadn't heard from him in quite some time. I was concerned something may have happened.
He'll be missed - may he rest in peace!
Scott

Hi,
I went to high school with Melvin and he was my date for the senior prom.
I have fond memories of him.
Please accept my deepest condolences.
I would enjoy knowing how he spent his life since I have lost track of him.
I believe he worked for Charlie Ginsberg for a time.
Fondly,
Susie
