Rose Barr was my first grade teacher at the Hurleyville school. My mother, Olive Shindler, and Rose were friends and she always kept Rose up to date on how I was doing. I did see her whenever I came back to Hurleyville to visit my mother. She always had a wonderful smile and a keen interest on what I was doing. I will always remember her as someone who always encouraged me to do my best. May she rest in peace.

Rose was my first grade teacher and my Mom Jean has remained in contact for ever! Calendars and diaries from Gersten-Hillman and visits in Hurleyville. Will always remember Dick and Jane!! Celebrated her birthday at the (school) museum in Hurleyville when I believe she was 100. I think Bob Longo was also there. Children and grandchildren present. Great celebration God rest her soul she was a very special person and a kind and caring teacher. They don't make them like her anymore!!
