Obituary of Ruth Lillian Eiselman

Ruth (Gilbert) Eiselman passed away Sunday May 15, 2016 at Braemar Assisted Living in Wallkill. She was 88 years old. Ruth was born on August 2, 1927 in Nasielsk, Poland. Ruth and her mother emigrated to the United States in 1930 when she was three years old. Her father had emigrated prior to them in order to build a better life. Ruth was a true Leo and a warrior who protected and fought for those she loved. She spent most of her life taking charge of her immediate family’s needs as well as her mother, father and brother. All of us relied on her for her strength in the face of hardships and tragedy. Her face lit up every time she spent time in the company of her children and grandchildren. She was a proud and strong woman. We will miss her grace, love and especially her sense of fashion. She is survived by devoted daughter Caryn Gilbert-Nikolaou, son David Gilbert and son-in-law Dimitri Nikolaou and loving grand-daughter Gina Peters as well as many adored nieces, nephews, their spouses and grand-niece/nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her mother Sylvia Orman, father Joseph Orman, brother Eddy Orman and husband Philip Eiselman. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 18, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY with Rabbi Endre Stamler officiating. Burial will follow at the Temple Sholom of Monticello Cemetery, South Woods Road, Monticello.
