I didn't see Nana as much as i would have liked to..but when i did she always made me laugh. My nana was a funny woman with a drawer full of candy everytime i got there that i shared with my Poppy :). Being at Nanas was better then the park..the lake in the garden & the fact that everyone was together made it so much more special. I wish I was there to say all this myself and to pay my respects because even though we didn't see much of eachother Nana is family & I love her very much and she will be very deeply missed. Just because she has passed, doesn't mean she's gone forever. I Love You Nana <3

When I was a little girl, Nana used to take me to see my GG (Great Grandmother) at her apartment in Manhattan. GG kept a kosher home and used carnation powdered milk. When she placed the warm glass of "milk" in front of me I gagged. Nana looked at me and laughed but told me to eat slowly and went to the store to buy a newspaper(she said). She returned with a pint of real milk which she quickly replaced the warm powdered milk with. She whispered to me "Drink it fast pussycat before GG sees it" and then kissed me on the head. From that day on, when we went to see GG she would smuggle a container of milk into her purse for me.
These are the sorts of memories I will cherish my entire life.
Nana I am going to miss you so very much. I am so sorry you didnt get to know the kids better, and that Sean and I will not be able to see you again. You will be forever in my heart. I love you. Barbara
